There was no surprise in Zalaegerszeg where 10th ranked MTK (2-17) was defeated by fifth ranked ZTE NKK (12-7) 63-46. The game without a history. ZTE NKK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MTK to just 2 points in fourth quarter. American center Nadia Parker (191-87, college: USC) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and the former international Gyorgyi Ori (184-90) accounted for 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Parker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Zsuzsanna Szekely-Horvath (189-83, college: Georgetown) came up with 15 points and Flora Szabo (187-92) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for MTK in the defeat. MTK's coach Nagy Dora rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. ZTE NKK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Miskolc. MTK lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 17 games lost. ZTE NKK's next round opponent will be higher ranked UNI Gyor (#3) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MTK will play against Cegledi EKK (#6) and hope to win that game.
