Regular Season Round 24: Alba - MAFC 98-86

Date: March 21, 2018
Very expected game when 13th ranked MAFC (5-19) lost to fourth ranked Alba (15-7) in Szekesfehervar 86-98 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Alba. MAFC was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to MAFC's 42. Alba forced 20 MAFC turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Ghanian guard Alhaji Mohammed (192-81, college: Louisville, agency: 3Eye) who led his team to a victory with 22 points. American power forward Chris Horton (203-94, college: Austin Peay St.) contributed with 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Toney McCray (196-89, college: Nebraska) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Marton Fodor (192-81) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for MAFC. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains fourth position with 15-7 record. Loser MAFC dropped to the bottom place with 19 games lost. Alba will face league's second-placed Kormend on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. MAFC will play against JP-Auto JKSE (#11) and hope to win that game.
