Date: March 24, 2018
The game between third ranked Falco-Vulcano (17-7) and tenth ranked Szedeak (10-14) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Falco-Vulcano was crushed by Szedeak in Szeged 98-77. The game was mostly controlled by Szedeak. Falco-Vulcano managed to win fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Szedeak shot 65.0 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Josh Fortune (196-94, college: Colorado) stepped up and scored 27 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Serbian center Nenad Sulovic (202-85, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). At the losing side international point guard Darrin Govens (185-88, college: St.Joseph's) responded with 13 points and 8 assists and international guard Benedek Varadi (195-95) scored 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Szedeak maintains tenth place with 10-14 record. Falco-Vulcano at the other side keeps the third position with seven games lost.
