Regular Season Round 21: UMMC - Dynamo K. 102-62

There was a change at the PBL leadership position after last games. Round 21 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Dynamo Kursk (19-1). They were crushed by second ranked UMMC Ekaterinburg (19-1) 102-62 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Dynamo Kursk. It was a key game for the top position in the league. UMMC Ekaterinburg dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo Kursk's 46. UMMC Ekaterinburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Dynamo Kursk's players. Spanish swingman Alba Torrens (188-89) stepped up and scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-93, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Polish-French center Helena Ciak (197-89) with 13 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Serbian forward Sonja Petrovic (189-89, agency: ProDep Management) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Five UMMC Ekaterinburg and four Dynamo Kursk players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. UMMC Ekaterinburg have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Dynamo K.
