Regular Season Round 37: Samara - Nika 70-63

An interesting game for Samara (19-12) which hosted in Samara their biggest opponent Nika (20-9). Third ranked Samara managed to get a 7-point victory 70-63. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Nika. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Olga Lavrova (182-95) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Olga Omelchenko (183-91) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Samara's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Marina Sheveleva (184-89) answered with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Yana Kotova (186-88) added 18 points in the effort for Nika. Samara maintains third place with 19-12 record having three points less than leader Rostov. Nika at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost. Samara are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Nika in Syktyvkar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nika will have a break next round.
