Regular Season Round 22: Cegledi EKK - MTK 88-61

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Cegledi EKK (11-9) crushed at home 10th ranked MTK (2-18) 88-61 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Cegledi EKK. MTK managed to win third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding MTK to just 4 points in second quarter. Cegledi EKK dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to MTK's 30 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded MTK 39-24 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cegledi EKK looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by MTK's players. Serbian point guard Jovana Popovic (173-90) notched 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and guard Veronika Kanyasi (173-99) supported her with 12 points and 9 assists. Even 10 points and 9 rebounds by forward Lilla Adamecz (182-92) did not help to save the game for MTK. Flora Szabo (187-92) added 13 points for lost side. Four MTK players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cegledi EKK have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 11-9 record. MTK lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 18 games lost.
