Second Stage Round 4: Starwings - Swiss Central 108-87

Everything could happen in Basel at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Starwings and 10th ranked Swiss Central had identical 2-1 record. This time Starwings used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Luzern 108-87. Starwings shot 60.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Starwings players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Swiss Central's players. It was a very good performance for Croatian guard Petar Babic (190-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 assists. Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue, agency: HMS) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Coach Roland Pavloski's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American point guard Austin Chatman (183-93, college: Creighton, agency: SDJ Sports) replied with 22 points and his fellow American import center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) added 10 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Swiss Central. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Starwings have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place in Places 7-12, which they share with Monthey. Swiss Central at the other side dropped to the ninth position with two games lost. Starwings' next round opponent will be Monthey (#7) on the road. Swiss Central will play against Pully and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
