Massagno has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Boncourt (1-3) 99-76 on Sunday. Massagno dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Boncourt's 40. They outrebounded Boncourt 37-16 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae (199-91, college: La-Monroe) fired 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American guard Justin Roberson (186-93, college: La-Monroe) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Four Massagno players scored in double figures. Massagno's coach Robbi Gubitosa felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. American center Amir Williams (211-92, college: Ohio St.) produced 20 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Brandon Brown (180-91, college: Loyola Mary) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Massagno left bottom position moving up to fourth place in Places 1-6, which they share with Neuchatel and Boncourt. Massagno will meet Neuchatel (#4) on the road in the next round. Boncourt will play against Lugano Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
