Second Stage Round 4: Szolnok - Alba 81-79

The most exciting game of round 4 in the A Division took place in Szolnok. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent Alba (21-9) to first ranked Szolnok (24-5) 81-79 on Wednesday evening. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 27-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Szolnok forced 19 Alba turnovers. Strangely Alba outrebounded Szolnok 42-29 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of international swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Serbian forward Strahinja Milosevic (203-85) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Akos Kovacs (183-88, agency: HMS) replied with 15 points and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American swingman Trevis Simpson (193-91, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: 3Eye) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Alba. Five Szolnok and four Alba players scored in double figures. Alba's coach Branislav Dzunic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Szolnok maintains first position in Division with 24-5 record. Defending champion Alba dropped to the third place with nine games lost. Szolnok are looking forward to face league's second-placed Falco-Vulcano in Szombathely in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Alba will have a break next round.
