Second Stage Round 5: MAFC - JP-Auto JKSE 85-80

There was a minor upset in Budapest where 11th ranked JP-Auto JKSE (11-19) was defeated by thirteenth ranked MAFC (8-22) 85-80 on Wednesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-13. But JP-Auto JKSE won second period 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MAFC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. JP-Auto JKSE was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Montenegrin guard Amin Hott (192-92) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 assists for the winners and Serbian power forward Dusan Cvetkovic (205-89, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Remon Nelson (175-90, college: USC Aiken, agency: 011 Sports) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard Devante Wallace (196-92, college: High Point) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MAFC maintains thirteenth place in Division with 8-22 record. Loser JP-Auto JKSE keeps the eleventh position with 19 games lost. MAFC will face higher ranked DEAC (#12) in Debrecen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
