Second Stage Round 7: Falco-Vulcano - Alba 82-72

An interesting game for Falco-Vulcano (22-10) which hosted in Szombathely 3rd placed Alba (22-11). Second ranked Falco-Vulcano managed to get a 10-point victory 82-72. The game was mostly controlled by Falco-Vulcano. Alba managed to win fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Alba outrebounded Falco-Vulcano 46-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Steve Taylor-Jr (206-93, college: Toledo, agency: 3Eye) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. International guard Benedek Varadi (195-95, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. American guard Kasey Hill (185-93, college: Florida) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Peter Lorant (206-85, agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Alba in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Falco-Vulcano maintains second place in Division with 22-10 record having five points less than leader Szolnok. Defending champion Alba keeps the third position with 11 games lost. Falco-Vulcano will meet at home Kormend (#4) in the next round. Alba will play against the league's leader Szolnok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
