Second Stage Round 7: Sopron KC - MAFC 83-82

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Sopron KC and 13th ranked MAFC had identical 8-23 record. This time Sopron KC used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Budapest 83-82 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 22-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Sopron KC dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to MAFC's 44. They outrebounded MAFC 38-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a very good performance for American power forward Ryan Watkins (206-91, college: Boise St., agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 15 rebounds. His fellow American import Esian Henderson (205-86, college: Central Mo., agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American forward Toney McCray (196-89, college: Nebraska) answered with 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the former international Marton Fodor (192-81) added 18 points and 5 assists in the effort for MAFC. Sopron KC (9-23) moved-up to thirteenth place in Division. Loser MAFC dropped to the bottom. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
