The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked KTE-Duna's (17-17) road loss to fourth ranked Kormend (20-14) 67-84 on Saturday. KTE-Duna was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 25-6 charge of Kormend, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KTE-Duna to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Kormend dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to KTE-Duna's 28. Kormend had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Steven Davis (203-93, college: Wright St.) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Eric Fanning (196-92, college: Boston U.) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and international point guard Krisztian Wittmann (184-85) added 9 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kormend maintains fourth place in Division with 20-14 record. Loser KTE-Duna keeps the fifth position with 17 games lost.
