Spartak Vidnoye used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Moscow 82-70 on Wednesday night. Spartak Vidnoye made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game, while MBA only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded MBA 38-25 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Denesha Stallworth (191-92, college: Kentucky, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and international forward Daria Kurilchuk (179-98, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 19 points (made all of her eight free throws). Five Spartak Vidnoye players scored in double figures. At the losing side international Anna Leshovceva (181-87) responded with 19 points and international point guard Karina Nizamova (170-92) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Spartak Vidnoye will meet Nadezhda Orenburg (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. MBA will play against Enisey Krasnoyarsk and hope to win that game.
