Regular Season Round 1: Omonia - Keravnos 40-77

Very significant was Keravnos' (#7) 37-point road victory against Omonia 77-40. Keravnos dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Omonia's 14 and made 17-of-21 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Omonia 40-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Keravnos players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Omonia's players. The former international power forward Anthony King (206-85, college: Miami, FL) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American forward Darral Willis (206-96, college: Wichita St.) accounted for 18 points and 12 rebounds. Four Keravnos players scored in double figures. American guard Jarvis Garrett (183-95, college: Rhode Island) came up with 20 points and the other American import power forward Ken'Darrius Hamilton (206-96, college: Tennessee St.) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Omonia in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keravnos will play against AEK Larnaca on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Omonia will play against AEL (#5) in Limassol to get more than just one victory in their record.
