Very expected game in Riva San Vitale where Pully (0-2) was defeated by Riva (2-0) 73-59. Riva dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Pully's 32. Riva forced 19 Pully turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for guard Kolby Morgan (173-96, college: Tulane) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Wendi Bibbins (185-94, college: Indiana St.) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Riva's coach Walter Montini allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Madeline Manning (188-93) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Carolee Dillard (188-94, college: UALR) added 16 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Pully in the defeat. Riva will play against Helios (#7) in Vetroz in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Pully will play at home against Winterthur and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
