Regular Season Round 3: MBA - Dynamo K. 64-85
Date: October 20, 2018
Very expected game in Moscow where MBA (0-3) was crushed by Dynamo Kursk (3-0) 85-64. Dynamo Kursk dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to MBA's 26 and made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. Dynamo Kursk had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. MBA was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Breanna Stewart (193-94, college: Connecticut) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. Spanish point guard Anna Cruz (173-86, agency: ProDep Management) accounted for 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. The former international Liudmila Sapova (188-84) came up with 10 points and 7 rebounds and Varvara Psareva (192-85) added 6 points and 11 rebounds respectively for MBA in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dynamo Kursk will play against Nadezhda Orenburg (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. MBA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Moscow to the arena Dynamo Moscow.
