VTB-Youth top team - Khimki-2 (5-0) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat seventh ranked Unics-2 (1-2) 67-60. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-60. Khimki-2 forced 19 Unics-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by center Dmitrii Karbusov (205-99) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and forward Daniil Medianikov (198-99) supported him with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Even 26 points and 8 rebounds by Vadim Kudinov (194-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) did not help to save the game for Unics-2. Artem Ivanov (193-98) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Khimki-2 have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-0 record. Loser Unics-2 keeps the seventh place with two games lost. They share the position with Lokomotiv-2. Khimki-2 will again meet at home Unics-2 (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Unics-2 will have a break next round.
