Apoel (1-1) recorded a loss in Nicosia on Monday night. Visitors were edged by Etha (1-1) 60-57. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward Dustin Thomas (203-95, college: Arkansas) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Point guard Trevin Parks (180-91, college: Johnson C. Smith) chipped in 10 points and 4 assists. Etha's coach Hadi Elhajj used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and guard Deonta Vaughn (184-86, college: Cincinnati, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Etha is looking forward to face E.N. Paralimni (#6) on the road in the next round. Apoel will play against AEK Larnaca (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
