There was a minor upset when 4th placed Monthey (3-2) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Massagno (3-2) 67-61 on Saturday. Massagno made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was naturalized Senegalese power forward Jules Aw (202-86) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. American guard James Sinclair (194-93, college: W.Carolina) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Kenny Frease (213-89, college: Xavier) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Boris Mbala (190-96) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Massagno moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Monthey and Lakers. Massagno will meet at home league's leader Geneve Lions in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Monthey will have a break next round.
