Regular Season Round 6: N.Novgorod-2 - Unics-2 53-74

Very expected game in Nizhny Novgorod where 9th ranked N.Novgorod-2 (1-5) was rolled over by fourth ranked Unics-2 (4-2) 74-53 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Unics-2. N.Novgorod-2 was better in second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unics-2 forced 23 N.Novgorod-2 turnovers. The best player for the winners was swingman Georgiy Korotayev (196-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Vadim Kudinov (194-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 14 points. Four Unics-2 players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Aleksandr Chadov (201-1) who recorded 9 points and 13 rebounds and forward Egor Chepik (197-0) added 6 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Unics-2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Zenit-2. Loser N.Novgorod-2 dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Unics-2 will have a break next round. N.Novgorod-2 will play on the road against Lokomotiv-2 (#8) in Krasnodar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
