Regular Season Round 6: Samara-2 - Parma-2 72-74

The most exciting game of round 6 in the VTB-Youth took place in Samara. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Samara-2 (3-4) to eighth ranked Parma-2 (3-4) 74-72 in the game for the sixth place. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 27-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was guard Vadim Bondarenko (190-0) who scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Egor Chernyshev (196-99) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Parma-2 players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Dmitriy Khaldeyev (208-99) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Valery Kukavsky (198-0) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Parma-2 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Samara-2. Samara-2 lost third consecutive game. Parma-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Samara-2 will play again at home against Parma-2 (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
