An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Sankt Petersburg. Top-ranked CSKA Junior faced 3rd ranked Zenit-2. Guests from Moscow (6-0) smashed host Zenit-2 (4-2) 96-57. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Junior. Zenit-2 managed to win fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CSKA Junior dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Zenit-2's 20. They outrebounded Zenit-2 46-31 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Makhar Konovalov (188-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Maksym Korvanen (203-99) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five CSKA Junior players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Vladislav Sharapov (205-99) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Denis Nikitin (-99) scored 19 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CSKA Junior have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Loser Zenit-2 keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Unics-2. CSKA Junior will meet Spartak SP-2 (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zenit-2 will play against Enisey-2 (#11) and hope to secure a win.
