Undefeated Vostok-65 (5-1) recorded its first loss on the court of fourteenth ranked MBA Moscow. Visitors were defeated by MBA Moscow 72-64. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Vostok-65. MBA Moscow made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Vostok-65 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Andrey Sopin (186-97) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Alexei Kuznetsov (205-84) helped adding 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four MBA Moscow players scored in double figures. MBA Moscow's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Semen Shashkov (205-89) responded with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American point guard Kwamain Mitchell (183-89, college: St.Louis) scored 11 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. MBA Moscow (2-4) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 6 other teams. Newly promoted Vostok-65 still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with 4 other teams. MBA Moscow will play against higher ranked Novosybirsk (#7) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
