Regular Season Round 7: Samara - Uralmash 69-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Samara's (5-1) home victory over 6th ranked Uralmash (3-3) 69-65 on Saturday. Quite impressive performance for point guard Anton Glazunov (182-86) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 5 assists. Alexey Nesterov (204-88) contributed with 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Igor Novikov (192-92) answered with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Andrey Zverkov (199-94) added 18 points in the effort for Uralmash. Four Uralmash players scored in double figures. Uralmash's coach Oleg Meleschenko let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Samara keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Uralmash keeps the sixth place with three games lost. Samara will face league's leader Spartak St.Petersburg in Sankt Petersburg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Uralmash will play at home against Burevestnik (#10) and hope to win that game.
