Regular Season Round 6: Sopron Basket - MTK 100-45

A Division top team - Sopron Basket (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed tenth ranked MTK (0-4) 100-45. Sopron Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to MTK's 22. They outrebounded MTK 46-20 including a 31-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sopron Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by MTK's players. Spanish point guard Angela Salvadores (178-97, college: Duke, agency: ProDep Management) notched 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Swedish center Amanda Zahui (196-93, college: Minnesota) supported her with 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sopron Basket players scored in double figures. Even 12 points by swingman Janka Hegedus (185-94, college: FIU) did not help to save the game for MTK. Flora Szabo (187-92) added 5 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sopron Basket have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-0 record. Loser MTK still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Vasas Akademia. Sopron Basket will meet NKE-Csata (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. MTK will play against PINKK-Pecsi (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
