Regular Season Round 4: Apollon - Keravnos 69-93

Date: November 4, 2018
Very significant was Keravnos' (#3) 24-point road victory against their biggest opponent Apollon 93-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Apollon. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Keravnos players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Apollon's players. The winners were led by American forward Darral Willis (206-96, college: Wichita St.) who scored that evening 18 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Josh Hagins (185-94, college: UALR, agency: Haylett Sports) supported him with 15 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five Keravnos players scored in double figures. Keravnos' coach Christoforos Livadiotis felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 29 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by the former international point guard Stefanos Iliadis (185-94, college: S.Florida) did not help to save the game for Apollon. American forward Cameron Naylor (201-94, college: Texas St.) added 4 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Keravnos (3-1) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Apoel. Apollon at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Keravnos will play against Etha (#7) in Nicosia in the next round where they are favorite. Apollon's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Limassol to the arena AEL.
