Regular Season Round 8: Zenit-2 - Enisey-2 118-64

Bottom-ranked Enisey-2 (0-8) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their eighth consecutive match to third ranked Zenit-2 (6-2) 118-64 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Zenit-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Enisey-2's 22. Zenit-2 forced 19 Enisey-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 53-26 including a 38-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Zenit-2 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Enisey-2's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Zenit-2 made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was center Vladislav Sharapov (205-99) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 20 rebounds and 4 assists (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field). Forward Lev Bykov (200-99, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Zenit-2 players scored in double figures. Guard Egor Bezrukov (185-0) produced 14 points and swingman Vladislav Afanasiev (191-99) added 10 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zenit-2 maintains third position with 6-2 record having just four point less than leader CSKA Junior, which they share with Lokomotiv-2. Loser Enisey-2 still closes the standings with eight games lost. Zenit-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Enisey-2 will play against the league's leader CSKA Junior (#1) in Moscow and hopes to get finally their first victory.
