Regular Season Round 7: Tambov - Cheb.Yastreby 76-61

Very important is a road loss of first ranked Cheb.Yastreby (6-1) against tenth ranked Tambov (3-4) on Wednesday night. Visiting Cheb.Yastreby was defeated by Tambov in Tambov 76-61. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Cheb.Yastreby. Tambov forced 20 Cheb.Yastreby turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Kirill Sokolov (192-93) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Center Aleksandr Semchenko (211-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Tambov players scored in double figures. Swingman Pavel Zhukanenko (194-86) answered with 15 points and 4 assists and forward Nikolay Dolmatov (202-88) added 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Cheb.Yastreby. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tambov moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Lok.Kuban KRS. Cheb.Yastreby at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Ufimets Ufa. Tambov will again play against league's leader Cheb.Yastreby in Cheboksari in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cheb.Yastreby will have a break next round.
