Regular Season Round 8: Tambov - Cheb.Yastreby 74-71

Superleague 2 round 8 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Cheb.Yastreby (6-2) against eighth ranked Tambov (4-4) 74-71 was the most important game of the last round. Tambov looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Forward Pavel Sizov (200-95) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Vasiliy Gladyshev (189-83) contributed with 8 points and 12 assists for the winners. Guard Georgiy Lachev (194-93) replied with 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Evgeniy Bogdan (200-88) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cheb.Yastreby. Four Cheb.Yastreby players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tambov moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Runa Basket. Cheb.Yastreby at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Ufimets Ufa. Cheb.Yastreby will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Tambov will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Ryazan on the road.
