Regular Season Round 7: PEAC-Pecs - ZTE NKK 81-68

Date: November 8, 2018
The game between second ranked ZTE NKK (5-3) and sixth ranked PEAC-Pecs (5-2) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. ZTE NKK was defeated by PEAC-Pecs in Pecs 81-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ZTE NKK. It was a key game for the second position in the league. 24 personal fouls committed by ZTE NKK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for Belgian point guard Julie Vanloo (172-93) who led her team to a victory scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Slovakian forward Katarina Tetemondova (188-88) helped adding 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four PEAC-Pecs players scored in double figures. At the losing side Austrian guard Sigi Koizar (173-95, college: Maine) responded with 26 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Gyorgyi Ori (184-90) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. ZTE NKK's coach David Gaspar rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. PEAC-Pecs have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Miskolc and Atomeromu. ZTE NKK at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. PEAC-Pecs will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ZTE NKK will play at home against NKE-Csata (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
