Regular Season Round 9: Kupol-Rodniki - Novosybirsk 76-82

No shocking result in a game in Izhevsk where seventh ranked Novosybirsk (5-3) defeated 9th ranked Kupol-Rodniki (3-5) 82-76 on Saturday. Strangely Kupol-Rodniki outrebounded Novosybirsk 38-25 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Alexander Martynov (196-95) who scored 20 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Swingman Kirill Pisklov (194-96) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Novosybirsk players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Ivan Rusetskiy (198-93) who recorded 24 points and Ukrainian center Ievgen Minchenko (213-94) added 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Novosybirsk. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Spartak-Prim. Loser Kupol-Rodniki keeps the ninth position with five games lost. Novosybirsk will face Spartak-Prim. (#6) in Vladivostok in the next round. Kupol-Rodniki will play on the road against Samara and hope to win that game.
