Regular Season Round 9: Falco-Vulcano - Kormend 88-92

The game in Szombathely was also quite interesting. Third ranked Kormend (7-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Falco-Vulcano (4-4). Kormend managed to secure a 4-point victory 92-88 on Saturday. Kormend made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard TJ Price (193-93, college: W.Kentucky) who scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import point guard Kenyon McNeaill (185-91, college: Louisiana Tech) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was international guard Benedek Varadi (195-95, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Julian Norfleet (188-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's) added 19 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Kormend. They moved-up to second place. Loser Falco-Vulcano dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with Alba. Kormend will meet league's leader Szolnok on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Falco-Vulcano will play against KTE-Duna (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
