Regular Season Round 12: Cheb.Yastreby - Neftekhimik T. 90-88

A very close game took place in Cheboksari between Cheb.Yastreby and Neftekhimik T.. Fifth ranked Cheb.Yastreby (6-3) got a very close home victory over 7th ranked Neftekhimik T. (4-3). Cheb.Yastreby managed to escape with a 2-point win 90-88 on Monday evening. The winners were led by swingman Pavel Zhukanenko (194-86) who scored that evening 24 points and 5 assists and center Kirill Arkhipov (202-96) supported him with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Even a double-double of 37 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds by Dmitriy Ezhov (207-91) did not help to save the game for Neftekhimik T.. Point guard Nikita Klyundikov (191-95) added 10 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cheb.Yastreby moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Arsenal and Ryazan. Neftekhimik T. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with three games lost. Cheb.Yastreby will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Neftekhimik T. will play against Arsenal (#4) and hope to secure a win.
