The game in Budapest supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Miskolc (6-2) played at the court of 7th ranked Vasas Akademia (2-5). Miskolc smashed Vasas Akademia 81-51 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vasas Akademia. Miskolc dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vasas Akademia's 28. Miskolc had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Vasas Akademia's players. DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: ProDep Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and American guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (180-96, college: Maryland) accounted for 23 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Bosnian power forward Sara Heljic (188-0) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian power forward Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) added 3 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Vasas Akademia in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Miskolc. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Atomeromu. Loser Vasas Akademia dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with PINKK-Pecsi. Miskolc will meet at home league's second-placed Atomeromu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vasas Akademia will play against the league's leader Sopron Basket (#1) and hope to secure a win.
