Bottom-ranked Starwings is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their ninth consecutive match to sixth ranked Monthey (5-4) 101-61. Monthey dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Starwings' 24. They outrebounded Starwings 45-25 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Monthey players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American players dominated the game. Center Kenny Frease (213-89, college: Xavier) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals during the contest. Five Monthey players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Ryan Smith (211-95, college: Tulane) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and guard Justin Mitchell (195-95, college: Wright St.) scored 7 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Starwings' coach Roland Pavloski gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Monthey moved-up to fifth place. Starwings at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Monthey will play against Lugano Tigers (#7) on the road in the next round. Starwings will play against Boncourt (#6) and hope to get finally their first victory.
