An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Polzela. First ranked Slovenian Hopsi Polzela faced 4th ranked Austrian Arkadia Lions. Host Hopsi Polzela (4-1) smashed guests from Traiskirchen (0-6) 84-42. The game without a history. Hopsi Polzela led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Arkadia Lions to just 5 points in third quarter. Hopsi Polzela dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Arkadia Lions' 24. Hopsi Polzela forced 21 Arkadia Lions turnovers. Bosnian-Slovenian forward Simo Atanackovic (207-90) scored 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Austin Burgett (206-93, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 14 points during the contest. At the losing side Serbian power forward Aleksa Komazec (207-99) responded with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Serbian guard Nemanja Manojlovic (197-93, agency: Global Sports Plaza) scored 13 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hopsi Polzela have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-1 record. Loser Arkadia Lions still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with UBSC Graz. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
