Regular Season Round 9: Sopron Basket - PEAC-Pecs 92-43

A Division top team - Sopron Basket (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked PEAC-Pecs (5-2) 92-43. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of PEAC-Pecs. Sopron Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to PEAC-Pecs' 16. They outrebounded PEAC-Pecs 50-28 including a 37-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sopron Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by PEAC-Pecs' players. International center Bernadett Hatar (208-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and Serbian forward Aleksandra Crvendakic (188-96) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Sopron Basket players scored in double figures. Sopron Basket's coach Roberto Iniguez felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Belgian point guard Julie Vanloo (172-93) with 19 points and 4 assists and forward Nora Wentzel (178-1) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Sopron Basket have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. PEAC-Pecs at the other side keep the fifth position with two games lost. Sopron Basket will play against Vasas Akademia (#9) in Budapest in the next round and are hoping to win another game. PEAC-Pecs will play at home against UNI Gyor (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
