No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked N.Novgorod-2 (7-9) crushed 9th ranked Spartak SP-2 (5-11) in Sankt Petersburg 86-59 on Tuesday. The game without a history. N.Novgorod-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. N.Novgorod-2 forced 25 Spartak SP-2 turnovers. It was a great shooting night for N.Novgorod-2 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. 29 personal fouls committed by Spartak SP-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of center Vladimir Byrdin (206-99) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Forward Vladimir Karpenko contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four N.Novgorod-2 players scored in double figures. Guard Nikita Tikhonov (190-99) answered with 17 points and 5 rebounds and forward Grigoriy Komisarenko (198-98) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Spartak SP-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. N.Novgorod-2 maintains sixth place with 7-9 record. Spartak SP-2 at the other side keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. N.Novgorod-2 are looking forward to face league's second-placed CSKA Junior in Moscow in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak SP-2 will play on the road against Samara-2 (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
