Regular Season Round 13: Zenit-2 - Unics-2 74-63

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Unics-2 (10-6) lost to fifth ranked Zenit-2 (10-6) in Sankt Petersburg 63-74 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Zenit-2. Unics-2 managed to win second period 12-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Zenit-2 won last quarter 24-14. Worth to mention a great performance of Vladimir Fomenko (-0) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds. Kirill Shilin (195-0) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Vadim Kudinov (194-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) answered with 14 points and forward Kiril Poponin (198-98) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Unics-2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zenit-2 have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Unics-2. Zenit-2 is looking forward to face Avtodor-2 (#8) in Saratov in the next round. Unics-2 will play at home against Enisey-2 (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
