The most shocking disappointment of round 16 was only three-point a home defeat of 7th ranked Neftekhimik T. (6-7) to eighth ranked Ryazan (7-6) 62-59. Strangely Neftekhimik T. outrebounded Ryazan 52-38 including 18 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Yuriy Trubin (206-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Andrey Kubankin (196-92) who added 17 points during the contest. At the losing side point guard Nikita Klyundikov (191-95) responded with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and Dmitriy Ezhov (207-91) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Ryazan moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Arsenal. Neftekhimik T. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. Ryazan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Neftekhimik T. will play on the road against Elbrus Cherk. (#13) in Cherkessk and is hoping to win this game.
