Regular Season Round 10: Miskolc - Atomeromu 83-73

Date: December 9, 2018
The game between Top Four teams took place in Miskolc. Second ranked host Miskolc (7-2) defeated one of their biggest challengers Atomeromu (6-3) 83-73. Miskolc dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Atomeromu's 20 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Atomeromu 48-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Atomeromu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. DR Congolese forward Chanel Mokango (196-88, college: Mississippi St., agency: ProDep Management) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (180-96, college: Maryland) chipped in 11 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Miskolc players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Erica McCall (190-95, college: Stanford, agency: ProDep Management) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Swedish guard Frida Eldebrink (174-88, agency: ProDep Management) scored 15 points (made all of her eight free throws). Atomeromu's coach Zeljko Djokic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Miskolc have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 7-2 record having four points less than leader Sopron Basket. Atomeromu at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. Miskolc are looking forward to face bottom-ranked MTK (#12) in Budapest in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Atomeromu will play at home against Cegledi EKK (#11) and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
