The most exciting game of round 9 in the Division A took place in Limassol. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 6th ranked AEL (3-6) to first ranked Keravnos (7-2) 74-71 on Wednesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Josh Hagins (185-94, college: UALR, agency: Haylett Sports) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Deondre Parks (185-92, college: S.Dakota St.) answered with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Blake Hamilton (198-94, college: Buffalo) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for AEL. Keravnos maintains first place with 7-2 record. Newly promoted AEL keeps the sixth position with six games lost. They share it with Omonia and E.N. Paralimni. Keravnos are looking forward to face Apollon (#5) in Limassol in the next round. AEL will play at home against the league's second-placed AEK Larnaca and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
