There was no surprise when 5th ranked Monthey (6-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked Neuchatel (8-3) 76-64 on Saturday. Neuchatel outrebounded Monthey 43-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Neuchatel made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jaaron Simmons (185-95, college: Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Neuchatel's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Karl Cochran (185-92, college: Wofford) with 21 points and American-Armenian forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) scored 10 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
