Spartak Vidnoye (#4) was upset in Kursk by seventh ranked Inventa 84-57. They made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Inventa brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Center Anna Pachurina (195-95) nailed 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side and Yulia Kozik (176-97) accounted for 16 points and 6 assists. Four Inventa players scored in double figures. International forward Daria Kurilchuk (179-98, agency: LBM Management) came up with 11 points and the former international center Tatiana Sema (193-96) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Spartak Vidnoye in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Inventa. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with MBA. Spartak Vidnoye at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Inventa will play against higher ranked Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spartak Vidnoye will play against MBA in Moscow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
