An interesting game for CSKA Junior (15-3) which played road game in Kazan against 4th ranked Unics-2 (13-7). First ranked CSKA Junior had an easy win 69-48. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA Junior. Unics-2 managed to win third quarter 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Unics-2 49-31 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by guard Denis Kovalev (190-1, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored that evening 20 points and power forward Viktor Lakhin (207-1) supported him with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Even 10 points by swingman Georgiy Korotayev (196-98, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) did not help to save the game for Unics-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CSKA Junior have an impressive 13-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-3 record. Loser Unics-2 keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. CSKA Junior will meet Avtodor-2 (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Unics-2 will play against Parma-2 and hope to secure a win.
