Important game to mention about took place in Limassol. Second ranked AEK Larnaca (7-2) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 7th ranked AEL (3-7) 81-80 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. American-Puerto Rican guard Kyle Vinales (185-92, college: Cent.Conn.St.) notched 25 points (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the effort and Croatian forward Jure Skific (202-88, agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Even 21 points and 8 rebounds by American forward Dion Wright (201-93, college: St.Bonaventure) did not help to save the game for AEL. His fellow American import guard Deondre Parks (185-92, college: S.Dakota St.) added 18 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Newly promoted AEL keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with E.N. Paralimni. AEK Larnaca will play against bottom-ranked E.N. Paralimni (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. AEL's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Limassol to the arena Apollon.
