Regular Season Round 17: Kupol-Rodniki - MBA Moscow 79-82

A very interesting game took place in Izhevsk. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 12th ranked Kupol-Rodniki (4-11) to thirteenth ranked MBA Moscow (6-9) 82-79 on Sunday evening. MBA Moscow forced 20 Kupol-Rodniki turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Andrey Sopin (186-97) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists. Power forward Alexei Kuznetsov (205-84) chipped in 26 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Anton Brevnov (190-87) produced 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Igor Samsonov (202-89) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Five Kupol-Rodniki players scored in double figures. MBA Moscow moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with CSKA 2. Kupol-Rodniki at the other side dropped to the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. MBA Moscow's next round opponent will be higher ranked Temp (#3) in Revda and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kupol-Rodniki will play on the road against Uralmash (#7) in Ekaterinburg and hope to win that game.
