Superleague top team - Vostok-65 (12-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Spartak-Prim. (8-7) in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk 94-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Spartak-Prim.. Vostok-65 made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Spartak-Prim. 39-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. American point guard Kwamain Mitchell (183-89, college: St.Louis) stepped up and scored 26 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international forward Aleksandr Gudumak (203-93, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 21 points. Vostok-65's coach Eduard Sandler allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Alexey Vzdykhalkin (190-85, agency: Interperformances) responded with 18 points and international guard Maxim Kolyushkin (192-90) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Spartak-Prim. players scored in double figures. Vostok-65 have a solid series of three victories in a row. Despite that victory Vostok-65 went down to second position due to points difference. Spartak-Prim. at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Ural Ekaterinb. and Uralmash. Vostok-65 will play against bottom-ranked Zenit-Farm (#16) in Sankt Petersburg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Spartak-Prim. will play at home against Spartak St.Petersburg (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
