Regular Season Round 18: Uralmash - Kupol-Rodniki 63-77

An interesting game took place in Ekaterinburg where higher ranked Uralmash (8-8) was upset on its own court by fourteenth ranked Kupol-Rodniki (5-11) 77-63 on Friday. Kupol-Rodniki made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Uralmash turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international Ivan Rusetskiy (198-93) who scored 20 points. Guard Anton Brevnov (190-87) chipped in 16 points. Four Kupol-Rodniki players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Andrey Loginov (204-93) who recorded 14 points and 7 rebounds and American forward DeSean Parsons (201, college: Portland St.) added 6 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kupol-Rodniki maintains fourteenth position with 5-11 record. Uralmash lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Burevestnik. Kupol-Rodniki will meet higher ranked Temp (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Uralmash will play against MBA Moscow (#12) and hope to secure a win.
